Efficio, the global procurement experts, is pleased to announce the promotion of Simon Whatson and appointment of Frank Welge to Vice President. Simon and Frank will lead teams in the UK and German regions, respectively.
Simon Whatson joined Efficio in 2015 with extensive expertise in procurement consulting, sourcing, and supply chain from roles in industry and leading management consultancies, including Oliver Wyman. Simon was promoted to Principal in 2016 and, with 15 years’ experience, he has built a strong track record of revenue generation. He manages international teams delivering large-scale procurement transformation projects, spanning a range of sectors and countries.
Frank Welge has spent the last 10 years at a BCG firm in Germany where, alongside leading the Munich office, he was responsible for managing its office in Shanghai, China. With extensive expertise in the fields of manufacturing, restructuring, and supply chain management, Frank is an expert for Industry 4.0 (The Fourth Industrial Revolution), specialising in supplier integration.
We are very pleased to announce the expansion of our senior leadership team with the addition of two highly talented, well-regarded individuals.
Simon is a distinctly collaborative and principled colleague with projects characterised by strong, trusted client relationships that often result in repeat work and referrals. He has been instrumental in leading our thought leadership content over the last few years, including co-authoring PROFIT FROM PROCUREMENT: Add 30% to Your Bottom Line by Breaking Down Silos, with fellow VPs, Alex Klein and Jose Oliveira, and published this year by Wiley. This is a very important book for Efficio, because it distils our knowledge, insight, and expertise in procurement strategy and practices.
Frank’s deep knowledge and experience in restructuring and supply chain will make him a very valuable asset to our leadership team. The opportunity to expand our proposition and client base in Germany and its surrounding regions has been a key goal of ours, and we are confident that Frank will be a fine addition to help us deliver on that.
