Simon Lipscomb

Simon Lipscomb has been with Efficio since 2018. He has more than 20 years of procurement experience across both the private and public sectors. He has worked as a consultant, within industry and as a civil servant, and he now leads Efficio’s  public sector work. 

Career 

Prior to joining Efficio, Simon held various roles, including Sales Director at PROACTIS and Programme Manager at the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA). He attended the University of Birmingham, where he studied English. 

Notable achievements 

  • Comprehensive expertise on the UK public sector, with experience of complex procurement and supply chain projects in central government, health, local government, and defence. 
  • Member of the senior management team in a number of procurement technology businesses, propelling their growth. He took one business through its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange AIM Market and another from a start-up to become one of the largest global procurement and supply chain technology companies. 
  • Extensive experience in digital procurement, having implemented many solutions in companies and government bodies around the world covering the full spectrum of source-to-pay functionality.  
  • Host of Efficio’s “Spotlight on Procurement” podcast, in which he talks to senior business leaders around the world about procurement and supply chain issues. All episodes are available here

Interests

A prior life as a performer means Simon remains an avid fan of stand-up comedy, and live peformance generally. He is a “foodie” who enjoys great food and wine and, to compensate for this, attempts to stay fit by running and going to the gym.
