Andrew holds a BA (Hons) degree in International Politics from the University of Cape Town. He also has a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and an MSc in Economic History from the University of Oxford, which he attended by way of a Rhodes Scholarship.

Significant experience
Andrew has extensive experience managing projects across the supply chain, including:
- Strategic Sourcing – public services: Carried out an opportunity assessment focused on the costs of procured goods and services, and subsequently launched an 18-month project to address all spend across the organisation while simultaneously rolling out Efficio’s eFlow solution
- Supply Chain Transformation – manufacturing: Led the team to implement a range of improvements to transform the supply chain at a major rail manufacturer. This included rolling out Kanban, developing a material management tracker and using this to identify material shortages, and making various improvements to the management of supply chain master data and the main goods receiving warehousing
- Strategic Sourcing – life sciences: Led a team sourcing £14m of spend (targeting savings of £1m) on supplies and consumables for a Bain Capital-owned manufacturer of speciality pharmaceutical products. Among the strategies used were specification changes, should-cost modelling, TCO analysis, and restructuring of the supply base
- Process Design – manufacturing: Designed and implemented a sales and operations planning process for a multinational manufacturer of food additives. The project presented a significant change management challenge and required balancing competing demands of London head office and US-based manufacturing facilities
Interests
Outside of work, Andrew has recently rediscovered a love of long distance running, which has lain dormant since high school. He is proud to have recently completed the Comrades marathon in South Africa and is now in search of his next big challenge. When not pounding the pavements he can usually be found enjoying a glass of wine with his girlfriend at one of North London’s many fine pubs.
