The Accountant role is responsible for day-to-day general ledger (ledger) accounting, supporting a high-quality month-end close, and maintaining robust balance sheet controls. The role also provides hands-on support to the Accounts Payable (AP) function to ensure accurate, timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.

Who we’re looking for:

Key Responsibilities :
 

· Month end close: prepare and post month-end journals in line with the close calendar, with clear supporting documentation.

· General ledger management: maintain the general ledger, ensuring appropriate postings, accruals, prepayments, and consistent application of accounting policies.

· Balance sheet reconciliations: prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to auditable standards, including timely investigation and resolution of reconciling items.

· Controls and compliance: ensure adherence to key finance controls and contribute to continuous improvement of the control environment.

· Audit support: support internal and external audits by providing timely schedules, reconciliations, evidence, and responses to queries.

· Cost analysis and insights: support management reporting with commentary and analysis of key cost movements and variances.

· Intercompany: maintain intercompany ledgers, including monthly reconciliations and timely resolution of differences with counterparties.

· AP processing support: process supplier invoices (including coding, approvals workflow, and matching where relevant) and ensure accurate posting to the correct cost centres and accounts.

· Supplier and payment management: support supplier onboarding/maintenance, respond to supplier queries, and assist with weekly/monthly payment runs in line with approval limits and payment terms.

· AP period end: support AP close activities, including sub-ledger cut-off, accrual inputs (where relevant), and supplier statement reconciliations.

· Process improvement: identify and implement enhancements to accounting and AP processes/systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and stakeholder experience.

 
 
Requirements :
 
Education and Certification
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
· ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant accounting certifications (minimum part qualified) is a strong plus.
 
Experience
· Minimum of 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
 
Technical Skills
· Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
· Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
· Strong Excel skills.
 
Soft Skills
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
