Dap has been with the firm since 2004. He has over 26 years' experience in strategic sourcing and operations consulting across a variety of sectors.

Main areas of practise

Dap is an expert in the financial services, retail, media, automotive, IT and telco, public sector and oil and gas sectors and has managed a wide variety of complex projects in many international markets.

Career

Prior to Efficio, Dap was part of the European Supply Chain and Operations Consulting Practice at PwC and before that, held several senior procurment roles in industry in automotive, retail and manufacturing. Dap attended the University of Aston where he gained a BSc in Business Administration in 1992.

A British national, Dap speaks English, Sinhalese and conversational French.

Significant experience

Dap has successfully managed a large number of projects including:

  • Strategic sourcing and process optimisation – global staffing: Currently leading our engagement with the world's fourth-largest managed service provider of temporary staff, and has led a team to implement innovative sourcing practices and process changes in parts of their $4bn temporary staff spend, which has helped dramatically improve profitability within our client’s key market sectors
  • Strategic sourcing training – financial services: Led the team to develop and implement a global sourcing training program for the world's largest retail bank. Worked with the client to measure the skills of the incumbent team of 170 buyers, customise a training curriculum and develop a bespoke set of training materials. Trained the internal Efficio team on the materials and co-ordinated the deployment of the training over the course of 72 training days in eight global markets
  • Procurement transformation – global media and exhibitions: Managed a complex program to identify and deliver significant sourcing savings across several indirect and direct categories, followed by the design and implementation of an all-new in-house sourcing team to embed and sustain the savings. He acted as the interim Chief Procurement Officer for the one-year duration of the transition and delivered savings 40% ahead of forecast
  • Procuremernt transformation – public sector: Led a team of consultants to build and implement a single, strategic procurement team to manage a spend of c.£200m across four UK police forces. In parallel, he ran a team to execute a two-year, four-wave program to source a range of direct and indirect categories to deliver saving and operational benefits (of more than 10% of addressable spend), all fully compliant with OJEU legislation
