Claims expenditure represents an extremely diverse and complex supply chain, where transparency is often lacking and suppliers may be deeply embedded components in the claims process. Claims settlement can often be a largely administrative process, with limited Procurement input, no formal focus on managing costs, and little understanding or application of Strategic Sourcing principles and processes.
