Efficio is proud to announce that Principal Shirin Tomlinson and Senior Manager Melissa Leonard have been awarded Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s “Women in Supply Chain Award 2022”.
The award recognizes the accomplishments, mentorship, and examples set by female supply chain leaders and executives who have helped their clients and the wider supply chain community to meet the challenges they face.
With 27 years of experience in supply chain and procurement, Shirin Tomlinson utilizes her vast knowledge of the field to train current and future supply chain and procurement professionals. Shirin formally established the Efficio Academy for both colleagues and clients in 2017. Since the onset of the pandemic, she transitioned our extensive coursework to a blend of digital and instructor-led delivery to effectively serve the changing ways of working in a virtual world. Shirin is a member of Efficio’s Diversity & Inclusion SteerCo, guiding initiatives that build a more diverse and inclusive organization.
Since joining Efficio six years ago, Melissa Leonard has come to be known by both clients and colleagues as the ultimate fixer and creative problem-solver. This culminated in her shift to vital public sector work over the past two years. She has supported the DHSC and NHS England’s COVID-19 response initiatives, notably through developing supply chain data models and stock models that were crucial to alleviating the complications of rapid procurement. As a member of the Efficio sustainability community, Melissa has also played a role in creating the company’s carbon reduction plan and developing the carbon footprint methodology to show baseline data and trends on eFlow, our proprietary procurement software.
Shirin is passionate about using her vast experience and expertise in supply chain to pave the way for future leaders. But what really sets Shirin apart is her drive to develop well-rounded professionals who go beyond the traditional boundaries of supply chain and drive change on the business challenges we face in these tumultuous times. We are always impressed by how she balances a creative mindset with the pragmatism to implement her vision.
A true all-rounder, both in terms of skillset and expertise on a broad range of industries, Melissa has been involved in making key strategic decisions on the NHS’ vaccine program. It’s no surprise to us that Melissa has had her work delivered directly to No.10 – come rain or shine, she gets things done!
We are thrilled to see Shirin and Melissa receive the recognition they deserve, and we look forward to the important contributions they will surely continue to make to the field of supply chain.
