Career background

I studied Mechanical Engineering with Industrial Management (MEng) in Sheffield, graduating in 2011. After a short spell with Rolls-Royce in Manufacturing Engineering, I joined the graduate programme of global consultancy, Accenture, and spent the entirety of my almost three years with them working for a large reinsurance client. Here, I honed my skills in business process improvement, IT strategy and enterprise-scale application ecosystem simplification programmes, while gaining an understanding of the often complex world of reinsurance.

I joined Efficio at the start of 2014 looking for a new challenge and to build new skills. I was attracted to the firm for three primary reasons; the commercial 'hands-on' nature of the projects, the personable nature and clear passion of the leadership team and the more attractive, friendly size of the firm.

My role

I currently form part of the management team within the Technology Consulting area of the business. My role includes managing the development, implementation and ongoing management of our technology portfolio. I also support the ongoing growth of our technology capability, including working closely with potential clients at an early stage to develop opportunities. The team has only been in existence for a relatively short while, and I was member number one.

Prior to my focus on technology, I was part of the procurement consultancy business. During this time, I worked on a Strategic Sourcing exercise for a UK rail infrastructure firm, and supported a rail electrification programme in Denmark. I have developed a number of custom digital applications for clients, including OnTrack, a cost management solution, which is live at a number of our infrastructure sector clients.

What I like about Efficio

From my perspective, the entrepreneurial culture and current rapid growth makes Efficio an extremely exciting place to work. In my two short years here, the breadth and diversity of my role has expanded substantially. The opportunities to influence the way we work, to make a significant impact and grow with the company in an accelerated trajectory are unrivalled in the industry.
