After joining Efficio in 2019 with extensive industry experience in supply chain and logistics, Tameem now specialises in Local Content, with a particular focus on strategy developement and implementation.

Main areas of practice

Tameem has key experience in designing and implementing frameworks for Local Content (LC) programmes, including local supplier development and investor outreach to increase LC spend. He also focusses on supply chain planning, process improvement, project and change management, as well as data analysis and modelling to set baselines, target commodities and evaluate localisation opportunities.

Career

Highly skilled in data analytics and operations research, Tameem holds a Masters in Industrial Engineering from University of Miami. Tameem begun his career in supply chain in 2012 at Unilever before embarking on similar roles at a number of firms including Deloitte, IATCO and Saudi Arabian Airlines until his enrolment at Efficio in 2019.  

Selected experience

  • Local Content - Global Petrochemical Company: Designed and implemented frameworks for different Local Content (LC) programmes including local supplier development and investor outreach to increase LC spend. Conducted comprehensive data analysis to set LC baselines, target commodities, and evaluate localisation opportunities addressing an annual spend of 5.6 billion USD. Built user friendly templates to aggregate national demand, raw material requirements, and local supplier capabilities.
  • Supply Chain Improvement - International FMCG Company: Spearheaded the implementation of an efficient Cross-Dock distribution model, by synchronising a team effort of numerous members from four different functions, with an objective of eliminating in-house waste and reducing warehousing costs.
  • Organisation Restructure - Global NGO: Process-mapped and streamlined processes of interdisciplinary organisational functions, then detailed them in written operation manuals, describing KPIs, RACIs, functional procedures, and organisational policies.
  • Change Management - Global FMCG Company: Led the implementation of a new market-driven production strategy, aligning departmental KPIs and resolving interdisciplinary conflicts. Designed a dynamic Safety-Stock Inventory system utilising complex algorithms fed by large data sets.
