Insurance
Insurance companies are under increasing pressure to lower costs. Low interest rates have reduced investment income, increased regulation has raised operating costs, claims values are rising, and the margin between premium income received and the cost of claims paid out is wafer-thin.
Claims expenditure represents an extremely diverse and complex supply chain, where transparency is often lacking and suppliers may be deeply embedded components in the claims process. Claims settlement can often be a largely administrative process, with limited Procurement input, no formal focus on managing costs, and little understanding or application of Strategic Sourcing principles and processes. Efficio helps address these areas to significantly enhance overall profitability and the critical ‘combined ratio’ (between premium income and payout costs), while carefully balancing the customer satisfaction.
We support leading insurance companies, including Zürich Insurance, Aviva and Axa, in controlling both administrative and overhead costs through Strategic Sourcing and outsourcing. We also work with non-life companies such as Scandinavian insurer Tryg and RSA to optimise claims expenditure through the creation of a cost competitive supply base supported by effective processes and incentives.
The Efficio consultants had the confidence and strength of character to disagree with Tryg viewpoints when they felt it was in the best interests of the company in a positive and constructive way, and the extremely successful outcomes - savings of up to 23% in the categories Efficio tackled - speak for themselves. I was hugely impressed by Efficio's work throughout the Next Level Sourcing programme. They have made a huge contribution to my company's future success.
Digital future
Digitisation is key to reducing costs and improving services in the Insurance sector. Efficio delivers offerings that fuse the best of digital and physical worlds, transforming business models, products and sourcing approaches. By organising for digital innovation and redesigning processes, you could see a reduction of claims, sales and administrative costs of up to 20%.
We create a holistic approach to claims performance improvement, drawing on experience gleaned across different countries, companies and insurance sectors. We set out to gain visibility of your expenditure, and from this to determine networks of vendors and service providers that are effective both on costs and service.
eFlow
Efficio’s new cutting-edge disruptive technology, eFlow, uses a spend analysis tool across all of our sourcing categories in RSA Canada. Our sourcing teams use dynamic and flexible visualisations of spend and operational data to navigate through different hypotheses in an agile manner.
The eFlow workbench can be accessed by all client stakeholders, allowing them to dig deeper into a variety of metrics and expedite validation and results tracking. This accelerates building transparency and provides a 'total cost' view across complex categories such as Claims, Legal, Glass Repair or Crash repair.
An approach that delivers
This approach delivers: our work with Scandinavian insurer Tryg achieved a 10% improvement on combined ratio (the key cost measure) and gained industry recognition when CIPS named it ‘Best Consulting Project 2013’.
